Yoga Gym Sport

Yoga Gym SportYoga Gym Sport, also known as Performance Yoga is geared towards the unique needs of athletes and sports teams. It combines the Yoga Gym approach with sport psychology to maximise athletic performance. By taking into consideration the repetitive stresses athletes place on their bodies as well as the psychological pressures of competitive sport, Yoga Gym Sport focuses on taking movement, mobility, awareness, anxiety reduction and stress-management skills to a new level.

All sessions are taught by Yoga Gym founder, Nicola Jane Hobbs (MSc), who has a Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology and personal experience of the physical and psychological demands of intense sport-specific training regimes from her time as a national Olympic Weightlifter.

Individualised Yoga Gym Sport workshops and regular classes are available for sports teams, clubs and athletes. All sessions are sport-specific and are customised to suit each individual athlete or team and their skill level.

Yoga Gym Sport training for coaches is also available which will provide sport professionals with the tools to integrate yoga and mobility training into their coaching methods.

Nicola has been working with the players for the past few months. Nicola provides a largely passive session which takes into account the individual needs of each player in terms of their injury history and their current training and match day loads. We have seen large improvements in their flexibility, and their willingness to continue yoga, in my opinion the service provided is invaluable. Dan Hodges

Head of Sport Science, AFC Bournemouth

Nicola delivers weekly yoga sessions to a number of our first team players. She is an excellent practitioner who is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated. All of the players really enjoyed her sessions and felt they were extremely beneficial to improving their strength, mobility and flexibility. She was always extremely professional and built an excellent rapport with the players. She also tailored the sessions to the individual needs of each player, I would therefor definitely recommend her services as a yoga instructor. Laurence Bloom

Nicola has been working with the club for the past season, dealing with some of our injured players and prophylactically with other squad members. We have been extremely pleased with their outcomes and have noticed objective improvements in mobility, injury rates, and movement fluidity. The players have reported substantial improvements in their symptoms and general well-being. Nicola has an excellent professional rapport with the players and we count ourselves as extremely lucky to have such an excellent practitioner within our staff. Stephen McAleer
